The bill is whatever you actually stored.
No tier to buy up front and nothing to downgrade later. Flex 100 GB is $0.90/mo, and every gigabyte above your allowance costs the same $0.01.
Pay for gigabytes, not tiers
Your plan includes an allowance; everything past it is metered by the gigabyte at one flat rate that never changes with volume.
Billed by the gigabyte
Above your plan's allowance your bill follows a meter, not a tier. Store 120 GB on Flex and you pay for 120 GB — never for a bigger bundle than you need.
100 GB for $0.90 a month
Flex 100 GB is where every account starts: 100 GB of storage and 100 GB of download for $0.90/mo. The meter only starts once you pass it.
One rate, at every size
Every metered gigabyte costs $0.01, whether you store 200 GB or 20 TB. No tiers to climb, no volume discounts to chase, no rate that quietly changes under you.
Two plans, the same meter
Flex 100 GB and Pro 1 TB charge the same $0.01/GB above their allowance. Pro is simply the cheaper starting point once you pass 510 GB.
Delete a file, pay less
Clearing space lowers your bill instead of leaving you paying for capacity you no longer use. There is no tier to downgrade out of first.
No seats, no devices, no commitment
Only storage and downloads are metered. Extra devices, extra household members and extra syncing cost nothing, and paying a year at a time is a discount, not a contract — it takes 20% off the biggest plan.
How the meter is priced
A plan fee, then one rate for every gigabyte above it. There are no bands to cross and no tiers to climb — the same flat rate at every size.
Flex 100 GB
100 GB of storage and 100 GB of download included
$0.90/mo
Pro 1 TB
Cheaper than Flex plus the meter from 510 GB upwards
$5.00/mo
Everything above your allowance
One flat rate on both plans — it never changes with volume
$0.01 / GB
Download is included up to your plan's monthly allowance, and deleted files stay restorable through file version history.
The meter, at six sizes
The cheaper of the two plans at each size, with storage above its allowance charged at the same per-gigabyte rate.
| Storage | Plan | Your bill |
|---|---|---|
| 100 GB | Flex | $0.90/mo |
| 250 GB | Flex | $2.40/mo |
| 510 GB | Flex | $5.00/mo |
| 1 TB | Pro | $5.00/mo |
| 2 TB | Pro | $15.00/mo |
| 4 TB | Pro | $35.00/mo |
One rate applies at every size — there is no threshold where the price per gigabyte changes, only the plan whose allowance is the cheaper starting point.
Pay as you go FAQ
What exactly am I billed for?
Your plan, plus any storage and download above the allowance it includes, at $0.01 per gigabyte. Nothing else is metered: devices, syncing, shared folders and household members are all included.
What happens when I delete files?
Your bill follows the meter back down to the plan fee. Because you are not buying a tier up front, freeing space is reflected in what you pay rather than leaving you with capacity you have already been charged for.
How do I know whether to be on Flex or Pro?
510 GB is the crossover: below it, Flex plus its metered gigabytes is cheaper; above it, Pro's allowance is. The pricing page shows the cheaper of the two at any size, and moving between them takes effect on your next bill.
Is paying yearly cheaper?
Yes — Flex is $9.00/yr a year and Pro is $48.00/yr, up to 20% below the monthly price. The discount applies to the plan fee; metered gigabytes are still billed month by month.
Is there a minimum charge or a commitment?
The plan fee is the minimum — $0.90/mo on Flex. There is no contract and no notice period: cancel whenever you like and you are billed only for the period you have already started.
Can my bill surprise me?
Only in proportion to what you store — there is no per-request pricing, no egress trap, and no automatic jump to a bigger tier. 1 TB of storage costs $5.00/mo, and you can see the figure for any size on the pricing page before you upload anything.
